The Lagos Chapter of the Strategic Women and Youth Institute’s (SWYI) Youth Ambassadors recently embarked on an eco-friendly mission in Makoko, Lagos State, as part of their “Embracing the Green Environment” program. This initiative, spanning four days, aimed to underscore the significance of environmental preservation for a cleaner, healthier Lagos.

Focusing on practical actions, SWYI’s activities in Makoko centred on both cleaning efforts and the promotion of eco-friendly products. Through these endeavours, the Youth Ambassadors demonstrated how local communities can actively contribute to environmental conservation, paving the way for a sustainable future.

The project culminated in a community outreach program designed to heighten awareness of environmental issues in Makoko. By engaging residents and fostering dialogue, SWYI aimed to instill a sense of ownership and responsibility for the environment, encouraging ongoing efforts towards a greener, more resilient Lagos
